YAY! Your Getting Married!!!!

Congrats! Your getting Married!!!

There is so much to do, where do we start? Where is the ceremony going to be? Where will the reception be at? What date should we pick? Who will do my hair/make-up????
AHHHHHHH!!!! So many questions!!

Well, I don't know much about dates or places to have a wedding BUT hair or makeup I got you covered.

Here are a few things that will make the process 'A LITTLE' less stressful :)

Referrals- Get some referrals from your family, friends and even co-workers

Do your research- Do some research on that person or salon. Sometimes salon Specialize in doing wedding parties and updos while others specialize in extensions or hair care. So you want to make sure you choose the right fit.

Book a Trial- This is a MUST! I encourage all Brides, Bridesmaid and Mother of Bride to have a trial. Even though you did your research on the Hairstylist/Makeup-artist and you love their work and trust they will do a great job, a trial is still a must. And if you haven't picked or thought about your hairstyle or make-up until 3 days before the wedding, STILL book that trial. (I have a disaster story for you at the end)
**Side note** You may ask when is the best time to do a Trial? Well, I suggest the day your having your Engagement Party, Engagement Pictures or even the Bridal shower. I also suggest doing the make-up and hair at the same time, not on separate days. Because you want to see the your complete look as if it was the day of your wedding. Also why the reason I suggest to book the trial on the day of your engagement party and etc is,well, who wants to get all dolled up no where to go? ;o)

Bring Pictures- So you booked your trial. You know exactly how you want your make-up and hair to be in your mind. Well it has been my experienced that even though you describe your make-up and hair to the stylist, nothing works BEST than to have a picture. What you may have in your head my not not be the same thing the stylist gets from you describing it. So go pick up some bridal magazines or google search hairstyles.

Communicate: So what if even after looking for pics, you don't see what you like? Well bring pictures of hair/makeup you DONT like. That way they know what you don't like and know what not to do. Communicate EVERYTHING you like and EVERYTHING you hate. You wont hurt the stylist/makeup artist feelings and if they do get upset because you don't like something or wants something changed, well then its time to look for another stylist/makeup artist.

Clean face/hair: Always arrive to the trial with a clean palette to get the BEST results.

Well those are just a few suggestions and I'm sure my fellow hairstylist and make-artist and more. So feel free to post below!

***Disaster story***
So a bride calls me on a thurs nite because she was referred to me by a friend and she wanted me to do her wedding. I said sure! when did you want to book a trial? she told me she didnt have time for that cuz her wedding was that SATURDAY! I told her oh noI always do trials. she pleaded with me and agaisnt my better judgement i said yes as long as she sends me a picture of the hairstyle and a pic of herself. Cuz you gotta remember lot of times us hairstylist and makeup artist are going in there blind. Not nknowing if the person has super long hair or short hair that she wants to be long. or if she has facial blemish. So its kinda scary doing an updo the day of the wedding and not knowing what she wants nor how her hair is.

So the pic she sent me was a very easy updo (wheeew) something very simalar to this...
So Saturday comes and im doing my thing. Im practically finish and i look at her in the mirror and she starts to cry! OMG!!! I felt horrible!! I asked her whats wrong!?!? you don't like it?? (stating the obvious lol) she tells me, 'I dont like my forehead, I thought you was gonna give me bangs' Me: 'oh, well the picture doesn't have bangs and you didnt tell me you dont like your forhead nor that you wanted bangs' and THIS is why I STRESS to have a trial. Needless to say i fixed it and she was happy but this jus stress the importance of having a trial, bring a picture and communicate with your stylist/makeup artist of what you like and dislike.
